Gheorghe Grigore Cantacuzino, also known as Nababul – was one of the richest men of his time.
Attorney, politician, then prime minister, he raised some of the most beautiful buildings in Romania (see Cantacuzino Palace in Bucharest or Buşteni), but in Floresti he did not manage to finish it. On the Cantacuzino Domain in Floreşti, Prahova County, the fifth edition of the Karpatia Horse Show contest will take place between 28th and 30th September, emphasizing the elegance marks from the previous years.
Masters in the art of riding and training, as well as horsemen and horses of 2 * and 3 *, referees from many countries will travel to Romania to participate in this Eventing (also known as three day eventing or horse trials) with dressage, obstacles and cross-country trials and the International Harness Contest.
“Five years ago, before we started Karpatia Horse Show, Eventing had become almost non-existent in Romania. There were only a few athletes practicing it. Meanwhile, things have taken another turn” says Mihnea Vârgolici, director of Karpatia Horse Show, which announces for the first time: “Miron Bococi, the Romanian horse whisperer, staying in Barcelona area, will attend the competition along with four of his horses, to present a moment of great sensitivity and elegance: natural training. Last year’s grand winner, Roo Fox from the UK, announced her presence with 8 horses, participating with dressage, obstacles and cross-country. The 4 * British horseman, Spencer Sturmey will hold a training course in the days before the competition for those who want to improve in full-body discipline. Spencer Sturmey is currently one of the most famous commentators on equestrian sport! “
As a novelty this year, spectators will be able to watch equestrian competitions and shows, not only on the main contest ground, but also on the second arena. There will also be presentations of elegant horses and greyhounds, surprise moments and vintage cars, as well as access to a variety of shopping articles and exclusive offers in the VIP area.
Horse riding is not just a sport, it is a way of life in which any nature or beauty lover can find their place, near horses. In previous editions, tens of thousands of spectators enjoyed the mix of activities offered during the three days of competition.
